What's New Wednesday: The Truth According to Us by Annie Barrows

Well, I've had a fantastic week...insert sarcasm here...As some of you may know, I am majoring in Audio Production which means I am working with sound and music all the time. Therefore, I need headphones. Well, my headphones broke. I also need to have a computer in order to mix songs or work on different projects for class. My computer crashed. Just because I've been having a bad week, I went to play some guitar this morning and while I was tuning it, the high e string snapped -.- Anyway, that's enough about my life this week. Lets move on to our What's New Wednesday. 

Several new books will be coming out next week, but I would like to focus on one in particular. It is The Truth According to Us by Annie Barrows. 

Annie Barrows is a New York Times bestselling co-author of The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, but has now come out with her new solo book. This book tells the story of a young girl, Laylay Beck, living in 1938 who's father cuts her off and demands that she find a job to support herself. Specifically, she must find a job with the Federal Writer's Project, which is a New Deal job program.

Layla then sets out to find the history of Macedonia, West Virginia, which leads her to staying with the Romeyn family. 12-year-old Willa is then determined to learn all that she can from Layla and solve all the mysteries surrounding her family. Within all this chaos, Willa pulls back all the layers of her family's past while Layla uncovers truths of the town's legends. 

With so many good reviews already, I feel as though this book is definitely worth checking out. It will be released on June 9th, 2015 and can be purchased in hardback at Barnes and Noble for about $19.
