Thursday's Thoughts: "Plus Sized" Yoga

Earlier in the week I read an article about women who are considered overweight doing yoga and the different experiences everyone has. Good and bad. These women are taking a stand against those who think yoga is for skinny people and posting pictures on social media of them in difficult poses. Oh, the beauty and confidence they show! I personally am considered overweight and thoroughly enjoy taking yoga classes. People are so focused on everyone being incredibly fit, but yet when people try to do better for themselves or just simply enjoy doing something, they get judged for it. Why?

I am not overly confident about my body since having a baby, but I am working on it and hope to someday be as confident as I once was. I really don't want people judging me when I go to the gym or am taking a yoga class. I am trying to better myself and I don't need the judgmental people looking down on me just because I am not perfect. No one is. The fact is, I'm working on be comfortable in my own skin. Our bodies do so much for us. So what if we are all shaped different or look different on the outside. I know this is cliche, but it really is what's on the inside that counts. "A beautiful body lasts a night, but a beautiful mind lasts a lifetime." Maybe those people that are judging others, should take a look at that quote before they say anything.

Okay, rant over. Check out the article at http://www.takepart.com/article/2015/06/11/10-photos-smash-yoga-body-stereotypes and let me know your thoughts!
