In that case, I have been researching ways to occupy children on a plane. First off, I want to say that I have continued the weekly children's book challenge this week, which I will talk about later, and I will be packing all seven books in my carry on so we definitely have plenty of reading material. Bella has started to pick up books on her own and look through them as if she is actually reading, so if I would like to get some reading time to myself, she can join me and "read" herself! (It's adorable by the way!)
I also thought it would be a good idea to download some videos for her to watch. She really enjoys watching the Mini Adventures of Winnie the Pooh which can be found on Youtube. The stories are only about two minutes long so they don't require a lot of attention, but they are super cute and I enjoy watching them as well.
I also plan to bring on a few toys that she has here at home. I'm only taking a carry on suitcase and her diaper bag so I have to think light, but I think I will be able to take her toy phone, which she loves, a stuffed animal, her blankie so she feels comfortable and could possibly go to sleep, and a zebra that has a ton of toys attached to it that I like to hook to her stroller when I go to the gym so she can entertain herself there.
I really think that she will be good, and as charming as she is, I can only imagine what the people in the seats next to us will think. They might just entertain her if I'm lucky! You never know.
On another note, like I mentioned earlier, I have continued the weekly children's book challenge and tried to pick some smaller books to easily fit in her diaper bag as well as books that had a traveling/vacation/birthday theme since all of those things will be happening in the next week (excluding her actual birthday, just an early one celebration). Here are the seven I chose;
Flaptastic Numbers
Who? by Leo Lionni
Happy Birthday, Little Pookie by Sandra Boynton
On the Go: A High Contrast Board Book by Roger Priddy
Violet and Winston by Sonya Sones and Bennett Tramer
Hello, Airplane! by Bill Cotter
I'm Not Tired Yet! by Marianne Richmond
What do you like to do while traveling with kids? Let me know your ideas because I will definitely be doing a lot of traveling with my little girl!
