Thinking About Writing a Book?

Recently, I have really been thinking about writing a book. I have tons of ideas, I just need to get them out on paper. I used to love writing and wrote little stories all the time. I even tried to get a children's book published at one point. Of course I copied a couple other ideas and morphed it into one, but at least I tried.

Obviously, theres a lot of work that goes into writing a book so I will be doing research before I even get started. Although I would like to think I know what I need to do, I have a feeling I know very little.

The next step would be deciding which idea I would like to go with and how I can expand on the stories, characters, and so forth. Without great character development, the story will not be satisfying to the readers.
