What's New Wednesday: A Window Opens by Elisabeth Egan

This weeks What's New Wednesday brings us a book by a beloved author, Elisabeth Egan. Egan has written several books including I Don't Know How She Does It and Where'd You Go Bernadette. On top of being an author she is a fantastic book editor with Glamour magazine. This title is yet another great book. A Window Opens is our What's New Wednesday.

Alice Pearse is a typical American mother who dreams of nothing more than to have it all; a happy home life, happy kids, and an enjoyable job. She is a happy mother of three with a loving husband, but when her husband makes a career change and she lands a prestigious job at Scroll, her dreams of having it all seem to become something more plausible. 

Everything seems to be working perfectly in her favor and she is enjoying every minute of it to the dismay of her best friend who owns the local bookstore. Suddenly, her father becomes ill, her marriage begins to crumble, her babysitter is done, her kids are obviously growing up, and her career takes a turn for the worse. She is forced to realize that it is about having it all, but instead deciding what she wants and making that happen. 

Anyone who loves a real life situation in a book will love this title. From the success of Egan's previous books, high expectations should be held to this book. I have no doubt we will not be disappointed.
